IOF Release 7E
|
Release 7E is year 2000 compliant, and has no known problems running with the system clock set before or after the turn of the century. Release 7D is also year 2000 compliant, and has many hours of successful developer and customer testing. Release 7E is built from the proven 7D code with all available maintenance applied. Should any Y2K problems be discovered, they will receive top priority for resolution.
The current release 7D of IOF will continue to be supported. You can continue to run release 7D if you are not experiencing problems, and if you do not need the support for running Workload Manager in goal mode.

Except for 7D corrective maintenance, no other access control
changes were made to the new release. The 7D version of the
B23ALLOW option and other access control options can be used
without modification for 7E. This should make conversion from 7D
to 7E quick and easy.
Access Control
IOF access control has been enhanced to control access to new
workload manager fields and commands. The new Start Job
command, which causes an input job under workload manager
control to start execution immediately, requires level 3 update
authority. Changing service class or setting
quiesce on or off requires level 4 update authority.
These default levels can be changed by modifying the B21ACESS
option.
Corrective Maintenance
All 7D corrective maintenance has been applied to release 7E.
Installing the new IOF release is a good way to install all
available IOF maintenance.
Beta Test Sites
The beta test program for IOF 7E has been completed.
We wish to thank all the beta sites for installing and testing
release 7E, and for forwarding their comments and suggestions
back to us.
