IOF Problem Resolution Problem C11 |
---|---|
Previous | Next |
Description |
After converting to z/OS V1R8, some data sets do not appear on the
Job Summary. This problem also occurs on earlier z/OS releases
when the PTFs for APARs OA10621 and OA14292 have been applied.
|
BACKGROUND |
The IOF Job Summary has always displayed all sysout data sets
allocated by JCL or dynamically allocated even if they were
never opened. JES2 made a significant change to discard all
control blocks associated with sysout data sets that were
never opened. This change was first introduced by APARs
OA10621 and OA14292. The change is in all z/OS V1R8
systems.
IOF can not display a null sysout data set on the Job Summary when its JES2 control block has been deleted. Due to its control block structure, JES2 will typically discard some, but not all of these null data sets, creating a very confusing display on the IOF Job Summary. To avoid this possible confusion, IOF fixes U8A2283 (for release 8A) and U8B2283 (for release 8B) were written. This change is already incorporated into release 8C. The fixes change IOF so that sysout data sets are not displayed on the on the IOF Job Summary until they have been opened and written to.
|
SOLUTION |
Enter the SHOWNULL command to display all null sysout data
sets that still have JES2 control blocks.
