Jim, Here are the answers to your inquiry:
1.) The user wants to run this as a batch job
2.) User needs to capture the log from VPSPPA started task daily, this stc doesn't get shut down
very often so the log can get large so I'm not sure if a pre-allocated dataset would be the way to go so lets try th dasd data set with DSNAME function of the running STC.
3.)User wants to be able to capture the log while the task is still running.
Here is user's exact request -
We need to monitor when a remote printer is being used and
how it is being used. The VPSPPA log has the information needed
but since this started task can run for weeks at a time, we need
be able to capture the log using an automated process while the
task is still running.
