: I notice when I set MVSCHAR=SLASH, IOF still honors the '#' char in addition to '/'. Why might that be?

Typically, when a site specifies MVSCHAR=SLASH, they will also specify JUMP=# to redefine the # character as the jump character. Release 8 with global commands no longer requires the JUMP character so it is no longer documented in the B49CMPAT option.

If you do not redefine the "#" character, it will continue to be honored as the MVS command character in addition to the character that you defined.
